The superb chalet La Grange à Germaine offers a prime location opposite the Ardent cable car, at the foot of the slopes.
Your home in the heart of mountains awaits you.
The alpine chalets were once the place where men and animals joined in the spring, as soon as the snow melted, to take advantage of the abundant meadows at high altitudes during summer.
La Grange à Germaine is located in the heart of the Franco-Swiss area of the Portes du Soleil, at an altitude of 1,200 meters, deep in the calm green valley of Ardent, between the crystal-clear waters of Lake Montriond and the alpine pastures of Lindarets.
La Grange à Germaine is a true alpine chalet, decorated with old-fashioned planks of fir wood, its grain darkened by the sun, and a roof entirely covered with traditional split wooden tiles called "éfenles".
You will be immersed into the cosy and warm atmosphere of its past, and the comfort of a high-altitude mountain chalet.
You can discover the majestic Ardent waterfall (located 500 m from the chalet and a 5-minute walk), an emblematic site of the Aulps Valley, with more than 200 m of height.
If you decide to continue the path downhill, you will arrive at the hamlet of Albertants, which is located in the valley between Lake Montriond and the village of Ardent.
The rest of the way will easily lead you to the end of our magnificent Lake Monriond which is a real haven of peace and a place of leisure where so many activities are possible: swimming, sunbathing by the water, canoeing-kayaking, and hiking.
In the upward direction, you can also choose to take a more difficult path to arrive to Belvédère du Lac. You will need a good hour of walking and strong legs.
The path is steep, but it takes you past the old slate quarries of Montriond, where it is said that one of the galleries joins the slate quarries of Morzine. Les Lindarets is a hamlet located at 1467 m above sea level, it is very traditional and is also sometimes called "Village des Chèvres" because a herd of around forty goats that roam there freely during summer.
